PDF Integrity Check

PDF integrity check analyzes the internal consistency of a document, looking for signs that it may have been modified since its original creation. This includes metadata analysis, structural examination, and revision history detection.

We can detect signs of modification, but cannot definitively prove authenticity. A document with no modification signals is more likely to be original, but sophisticated alterations may not leave traces.

Digital signatures cryptographically prove a document has not changed since signing. Our integrity check looks for editing signals regardless of whether the document was signed. Both serve different purposes.

Multiple incremental updates, mismatched metadata timestamps, inconsistent software signatures, and unusual structural patterns can indicate the document was modified.
